In 2010, from the vessels of Hackney sprung a crew of educa-teers swashbuckling illiteracy across the high seas of East LDN.
The Hackney Pirates have set sail on their voyage to a land where education is an enjoyable endeavour and young people are encouraged to continue their education outside the class room. The crew's goal is to make a real difference to the lives of young people in Hackney by providing creative support from their after school centre where everyday homework and reading becomes an adventure.
